How logistics invoicing and settlement work
Freight is invoiced after the shipment completes, against the quote the buyer accepted.
Create the invoice
- Open the shipment at
/logistics-portal/orders. - Select Create invoice.
- The priced lines come from your accepted quote. Add only charges that were disclosed in advance — waiting time, demurrage, extra handling — each with a reference.
- Attach the carrier invoices for any pass-through charge you are billing at cost.
- Submit.
What gets checked
- Line-by-line against the accepted quote. Charges not in the quote need a documented reason.
- Pass-through charges, which must match the carrier invoice attached.
- Cargo weight and volume against the booking, since freight is priced on chargeable units.
Settlement
- Approved invoices are paid on the settlement cycle shown in
/logistics-portal/finance. - Disputed lines are held individually; the undisputed part is paid.
- Payments go to the account registered in your verified company's name.
Avoiding charge disputes
Disclose surcharges in the quote. Most charge disputes are not about the amount but about a fee the buyer had not been told about — a demurrage charge from a missed cut-off, for example.
